Senior and Senior Retention Membership

Senior and Senior Retention Membership of the Fairfield County Hunt Club provides unlimited use of all Club facilities. Candidates for membership must be proposed and seconded by current Senior Members in good standing as well as written support of three (two for Senior Retention) additional Club members.

House Membership

House Membership in the Fairfield County Hunt Club provides unlimited use of the main clubhouse, restaurant and bar facilities. No other Club facilities except paddle tennis may be used by House Members.

House Membership is open to suitable applicants aged 60 and over. Members of this class do not have the right to vote at meetings of members or to hold elective office.

Applications for House Membership must be accompanied by four letters; from proposer, seconder and two other members.

Junior Riding Membership

The Junior Riding Membership is extended by annual invitation to children who are (i) recommended for membership by the Riding Activities Committee and (ii) are approved for membership by the Membership Committee and the Board of Governors.

 

This class of membership is only open to juniors, twenty (20) years of age and under. Applicants for renewal membership may not be over twenty-three (23) years of age. Junior Riding Members may lesson on club owned school horses and/or board a horse which they own or lease at the Club.  Junior Riding Members must take a minimum of two (2) riding lessons per month.

 

Privileges for this class of membership are restricted to boarding horses, unlimited use of horse facilities including the indoor and outdoor rings and polo field, and do not extend to any other member of the family.  The Snack Bar may be used when open during the summer, however no other Club facilities, except according to the Club Guest Rules.

 

Dues for this class of membership are 25% of Senior dues, and may be amended at any time by the Board of Governors & the Finance Committee upon recommendation from the Riding Activities Committee.  The dues for this membership may be billed annually, bi-annually or monthly, upon annual commitment.

 

Junior Riding Members are responsible for all additional fees and charges incurred for training, school horse use fees and if applicable, for their horse(s) boarded at the Club, and at home horse shows and away horse shows or for other Club riding events. Charges are payable by the end of the month in which first billed. Riding privileges will be suspended if the account is forty-five (45) days in arrears and 1.5% interest per month will be charged until paid in full. Delinquent members’ names and amounts of indebtedness will be referred to the Board of Governors at its next meeting.

 

Adult Riding Membership

The Adult Riding Membership is extended by annual invitation and to adults who are (i) recommended by the Riding Activities Committee and (ii) are approved for membership by the Membership Committee and the Board of Governors.

This class of membership is only open to adults, twenty-one (21) years of age or older, who either own or lease a horse which shall be boarded at the FCHC throughout the term of their membership, and/or who seek to take lessons on the Club’s school horses, which shall be subject to both horse availability and rider’s riding ability.  Adult Riding Members must take a minimum of two (2) riding lessons per month

Adult and Junior Riding Program Introduction Membership

This class of membership is limited to ten (10) riding lessons and is for adults (21 years old and older) or juniors (20 years old or younger) who are recommended by the Riding Activities Committee and who are approved for membership by the Membership Committee and the Board of Governors.

 

Privileges for this class of membership is for ten (10) riding lessons only.

 

The dues for this class of membership are 40% of the Senior Riding or Junior Riding membership dues, as applicable.  The dues must be paid in full once the member has been approved by the Board of Governors.

 

The ten (10) lessons provided under this membership must be completed within four (4) months of the date the Board of Governors approved the membership.  No person may be eligible for this membership more than once.
